Carol Liu holds a B.A. in English from Shandong University, TEM-8 certification and a CATTI Level 2 translation certificate, and works with equal precision in written and spoken Chinese and English. She spent over ten years in cross-border roles at large multinationals and on international engineering projects: overseas market development, professional translation, and the management of foreign intellectual-property matters. That is where her habits of careful document handling and fast response were built.
In the intellectual property department at Hengrui Pharmaceuticals she ran the process side of foreign patent filings, working with law firms in China and the United States across roughly 150 overseas applications and following each one from filing through examination, office-action responses and grant. She mapped the filing rules of 17 jurisdictions and reshaped the procedures there around them. Earlier she spent three years posted abroad, on the Mombasa-Nairobi railway project in Kenya and at an office in Ethiopia, as an on-site interpreter and technical translator.
At The Peng Law, Carol works on L-1A and L-1B petitions for multinational executives and specialized personnel, handling the evidentiary record, cross-border communication and case progress, with the aim of getting each client through the process accurately and without delay.
