The O-1A visa is for individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics. Applicants must demonstrate they are among the "small percentage who have risen to the very top" of their field by meeting at least 3 of 8 evidentiary criteria. The O-1A has no annual cap, no lottery, an initial validity of up to 3 years, and unlimited extensions. It is commonly used as a premium alternative to H-1B and as a bridge to the EB-1A green card.

② Memberships — Membership in associations requiring outstanding achievement, judged by recognized experts
③ Media — Published material in professional or major media about the applicant's work
④ Judging — Participation as a judge of the work of others in the field
⑤ Original Contributions — Original scientific, scholarly, or business-related contributions of major significance
⑥ Scholarly Articles — Authorship of scholarly articles in professional journals or major media
⑦ Critical Role — Employment in a critical or essential capacity for distinguished organizations
⑧ High Salary — Command of a high salary or remuneration relative to others in the field
Qualification Assessment

Identify Petitioner

Obtain Advisory Opinion
Obtain an Advisory Opinion Letter from a relevant peer group organization.
Prepare Petition Package

File Form I-129
